Length of Poi

Before you begin doing Poi you should check the total length of the cord. Hold the handle of the poi and put your arm out. With the other hand hold onto the Poi. The Poi should only just reach the side of your arm pit. It can be shorter, or you can have it longer but if longer then this can limit the number the moves you will be able to do. Also known as.. The nylon will burn & you'll end up with lumps of flaming molten mylon flying everywhere. It will stick & burn horrifically. It will also give out toxic fumes Use a natural fibre such as cotton or hemp rope - before you start making anything take a small piece & set fire to it to see what happens.
