Gentle Reminder - PG Status of Forums

It has been noted that we've been "slipping into something a little too comfortable" lately, so I will take this opportunity to remind all and sundry that these forums are rated PG.

So please, before you post, think about whether your (hypothetical) 9 year old niece should be reading it and respond accordingly...

There are several threads around at the moment which border on too risque... gayfest, straightfest & the recently deleted spanking thread just to name a few. So, if a thread goes missing all of a sudden, and it's been borderline (or beyond), it has been sent to the red-light district of HOP. A dangerous, seedy place where no one dare enter.

Problem, MiG is that such an area would tend to turn into a cesspool very quickly, wouldn't it?

i think the idea of a locked area where only "over age" HoPpers are allowed would be a good idea MiG however it would be hard to police weather people were telling the truth on their registration forms it would be easy to imput a false DOB to gain access.

it could be done but would require a lot of effort to make it work

Or you could just start a HoP tribe/myspace/etc... on any of the other millions of adult friendly sites.

I do see a bit of a hypocracy with the fact that I feel that some of the FIRE information on this site is not appropriate for a 9 year old to be reading but I'll keep that to myself.

And I certainly always have and always will support any decision made by the HoP administration.

@screech: my way of thinking is that you can't even see the fact that there's a forum there until you are over 16/18 etc. Also, if someone lies specifically to gain access, then they are deliberately skirting rules to gain access, and therefore deserve what they get, whether that be a booting, or a thread full of smut.

Should we really be trying to protect someone that doesn't want to be protected?

HOP will maintain its stance as a PG friendly forum. No changes, or adult sections, are in planning at ths stage.

Wouldn't an 'Adults Only' forum kinda defeat the 'poi is suitable for everyone' Statement? It would be more like 'Poi is suitable for everyone, but more suitable for people that are over the age of consent'.

IMO, if you want smut, there's Millions of other webpages that can tailor to your needs.

I agree with LTC in that HOP needs an "Adult" section about as much as elephants need ballet slippers.

It would simply become a smutfest, and this is Home of POI, not Home of PORN.

I'm sad to see that my attempt at resurrecting a tame version of the gayfest was vetoed, but I'll support the admins and mods decisions, even if I don't always agreee with them.

HOWEVER, I reserve the right to poke all the mods in the ribs repeatedly while shouting "VEEEEEEEEEEEP VEEEEEEEEEEEEP VEEEEEEEEEEP" in a shrill, ear-splitting voice!
